I have always been an avid cook and baker of everything from pies and tarts,
bagels and artisan breads, custards and cakes, to gourmet French, Italian,
and Polish meals. I love to entertain, and I find it immensely satisfying to
serve a guest something special.  I also feel strongly about high-quality
ingredients, and I use only the freshest and most organic products available,
both at home for my family and in my cakes.  

I started baking as a child beside my mother, who was a restaurant baker
and chef and later owned a gourmet candy store and deli, where I had my
first job.  I remember her stirring pots of bubbling caramel for fresh caramel
corn, hand dipping chocolate truffles, filling peanut butter cups
and my great
grandmother's coconut balls
, and baking fresh bagels. She encouraged me to
enter my first chocolate cake in our county fair at the age of 15, which won
Grand Prize.

I took a Wilton cake decorating course in 2001 and then had the opportunity
to do my first wedding cake  in 2002, and I found that I loved weddings!  I
won First Place for a purse and shopping bag cake at the Washington State
Cake Show in 2002, and I have also won multiple awards over the years for
my cakes, cookies, pies, candy, bagels and breads, and fresh preserves from
the garden. I completed a wedding cake course in 2007 and joined I.C.E.S.
in 2008, and we opened our beautiful new cake studio in Post Falls in early
2009, where I look forward to
continuing to learn and challenge myself in
the pastry arts.
